Increasing westerly winds on Sunday will drift snow into thick slabs on easterly slopes. Large open slopes that sit directly below ridgetop are most prone to wind loading and where you are most likely to trigger an avalanche. Avoid steep slopes if you see cracks in front of you in the snow or hear audible collapses.
Also, on Sunday, watch for small wet avalanches at lower elevations and on steep southerly slopes protected from the wind. If you start to see rollerballs or if you notice the snow surface getting wet, move to slopes with colder and drier snow.
