Kernpunkte

The general avalanche hazard is LOW. Low does not mean no hazard exists. Skiers and riders could trigger shallow surface sluffs and wind slabs formed by new and recently fallen snow in steep terrain above 9000 feet. Avalanches are unlikely at lower elevations today. This is the final avalanche advisory for the 2012-2013 season. Weather data such as snowfall amounts can be viewed on our website by looking directly at raw station data or by viewing the 24 hour weather data summery page. Weekly summaries will continue for another month. Thanks for your support!

In isolated areas of very steep rocky terrain above 9000 feet, a chance continues to trigger isolated pockets of wind slabs to a foot in depth that formed during strong winds from varying directions over the last few storm cycles. These small slabs could carry high consequence due to the unforgiving nature of the terrain in which they lie.
