Backcountry travel is generally safe at the mid and upper elevations as well developed melt-freeze crusts and colder temperatures combine to provide mostly stable conditions. At the lower elevations temperatures barely fell below freezing overnight and wet slides to the ground are possible on steep snow covered slopes as daytime warming weakens the snowpack. Avoid steep snow covered slopes, gullies and cliff areas after the snowpack has softened significantly.
