Avalanche Summary

Recent warm weather and subsequent cold nights have transformed the snowpack and made it difficult to trigger an avalanche. If you were to trigger an avalanche, it would be in firm wind-drifted snow on a steep slope facing north, northeast, or east. Give a wide berth to stiff, hollow-sounding snow on slopes steeper than 35 degrees to avoid triggering a small avalanche. Even a small slide could become dangerous in the wrong terrain.
