Avalanche Activity

The weather report and anticipated change in the avalanche danger are uncertain. Continuous warming. In some localities up to 20 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1600 m.

On steep slopes small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at elevated altitudes. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs can only be released by large loads in most cases.

Snowpack Structure

The weather conditions will give rise to significant moistening of the snowpack over a wide area. The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night and will already be soft in the early morning.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.
