New snow
- Above 2,500 m
More dry slab avalanches are possible above approximately 2500 m.
More dry slab avalanches are possible above approximately 2500 m.
The new snow and wind slabs of Saturday can be released by a single winter sport participant and generally at high altitude. In particular on steep slopes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are possible. Backcountry touring and snowshoe hiking call for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and caution. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are possible.
The new snow is poorly bonded in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted and weak.
The avalanche danger will not decrease for the time being.
