Reasonably consistent snow cover exists above 1800 meters. Below 2000 meters, the snow may overlie a hard rain crust. The snow on the ground before this storm is expected to be reasonably strong, but few field observations have been possible. With 35 to 50 cm of new snow that has been redistributed by high winds, uncertainty about the strength of the current snowpack will increase. Ongoing strong to gale force winds at upper elevation since the last storm continues to promote wind slab danger. Lower density snow has been noted below wind transported snow on east facing aspects. Conservative decision-making will be required.

North-facing aspects at lower elevation may be hard. Sliding into rock is a potential hazard. Ice axe and crampons will need to be carried.
