Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will gradually build in wind sheltered areas on West, North-West and North aspects. Areas mainly affected will be gully tops and corrie rims above 700 metres. The old snowpack will remain stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Very strong Easterly winds will ease slightly and veer to become South-Easterly. Moderate snowfall is expected from the early hours. The freezing level will rise from 500 to 1100 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry day with the freezing level around 600 metres. Winds were strong from the East-South-East. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally stable and well bonded in all locations. Greatest accumulations are in wind sheltered areas, gullies and corries above 600 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
