Avalanche Activity

As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches.

The snowpack will be generally stable. The avalanche prone locations are rather rare and are easy to recognise. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes, as well as at the base of rock walls.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust will form on the surface during the next few days. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes. The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
