The danger of moist and wet avalanches will increase during the day.

The surface of the snowpack has frozen to form a strong crust and will soften during the day. As the day progresses as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation there will be a gradual increase in the avalanche danger. Wet snow slides and avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. This applies in particular on very steep north facing slopes below approximately 2500 m, and on very steep east, south and west facing slopes below approximately 2900 m. In high Alpine regions there will be an increase in the danger of moist and wet avalanches within the current danger level. Backcountry tours and ascents to alpine cabins should be started early and concluded timely. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard snow surface.

As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snowpack consolidated. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes at high altitude, and in all aspects at intermediate altitudes. The snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. This applies in particular in the early morning. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack. Below approximately 2200 m only a little snow is lying on south facing slopes.
