Kernpunkte

Saturday saw little to no avalanche activity.  Sunday's hazard will remain Low.  Slightly cooler temperatures and increasing cloud cover means that the likelihood of Wet Loose avalanches will be somewhat diminished.   Continue to watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features, particularly in the warmest terrain (steep, South slopes).

    Despite above freezing temperatures I didn't hear any reports of Wet Loose avalanches on Saturday.  Cloudy skies on Saturday morning blocked a lot of the heat from the sun.  Sunday's weather might be a bit the opposite with the sunniest weather in the morning and then increasing clouds.  Wet Loose avalanches will be possible on South facing slopes if we do receive significant morning sunshine.  Any of these avalanches would be small.  Pay attention to how deep the snow is melting and use that as a guide to find good safe skiing.  

Avalanche Discussion

We have had a solid springtime regime with Wet Loose avalanches and Cornice failure being the only items on our problem list.  Overall we saw relatively little avalanche activity.  Daytime high temperatures have been climbing well above freezing and overnight lows dipping just below freezing.  This trend should continue into Sunday, but by Sunday evening a low pressure trough will interrupt the cycle with colder and stormier weather.
