    Wind Slabs will be unlikely to trigger. These will be isolated to upper elevation terrain near ridge top. Any deposits have depths between 10-20cm.

    Loose Wet avalanches will be possible at all elevations. Look for roller balling or a total loss of cohesion at the surface as key signs hazard is on the up!

Recent Avalanche Activity

None reported in the past 48 hours.

Current Snowpack Conditions

Recent wind will have impacted snow surfaces. Above 1800m, Wind deposits from Saturday nights snow remain in sheltered terrain across the Easterly 1/2. In places, these are up to 30cm deep. Elsewhere, the rain crust from July 15th will still be exposed. At lower elevation bands and under the rain crust the snowpack is very well consolidated & spring like.

Nor Westerly's dying out through the morning. Skies clearing. FAFL down to 2100m.

Sliding Danger

Crampons and an axe will be required. As some warmth and some sun impact the snowpack this hazard will cease to exist.
