Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of wet snow will form overnight and through the day on the highest summits, above around 1000 metres, with possibly some surface instabilities in steep locations around gully tops and coire rims. Elsewhere, the existing soft snowpack will continue to consolidate and will be stable, at lower elevations thawing and diminishing. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Outbreaks of light rain and snow overnight and through the day with moderate to fresh East-South-East winds. Snow fall will be limited to the highest summits above around 1000 metres. Observed Weather Influences: A mainly dry and bright day with isolated showers falling as rain and light snow above 950 metres. Light to moderate Southerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: There is a light covering of fresh moist and well bonded snow on a thin breakable crust on all aspects above 900 metres. Elsewhere the existing snowpack is soft and moist, thawing and diminishing at lower elevations. Stability is generally good. The avalanche hazard is Low.
