Forecast Snow Stability: New snow amounts are not expected to be significant mostly a light accumulation initially above 600 metres. Some shallow windslab may develop on NE to SE aspects mainly above 900m. These new deposits are not expected to be deep or extensive. The snowpack will generally be well bonded in most places for most of the day. Late afternoon a rapid rise in temperature and freezing levels accompanied by rain will lead to localised wet snow instabilities on all aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Some light rain on Friday evening falling as light snow above 1000m. The rain will soon clear to showers, these falling as light snow above 600m as the freezing level lowers, becoming drier by dawn. Dry, cold and brighter conditions for a time Saturday. Then the freezing level will rise rapidly above the summits in milder air by late afternoon with rain at all levels. Winds, predominantly Westerly moderate to strong, becoming South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: Today was much milder than of late, plus 6 degrees celsius at sea level with minus 2.4 degrees celsius at 1100 metres. It was mostly dry just some very light precipitation that was almost negligible, the winds were light South-Westerly. ObservedSnowStability: Snow cover is generally patchy and shallow and exists mainly above 600 metres with greatest amounts on North-West to North-East aspects. Snow at lower elevations is starting to slowly thaw and diminish.The snowpack is generally well bonded and stable throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
