New snow and wind slabs can be released easily and reach large size, especially at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2400 m. The current avalanche situation calls for great caution and restraint.

Over a wide area 60 to 80 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last three days above approximately 2000 m. The sleet gave rise to a loss of strength within the snowpack over a wide area in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. As a consequence of new snow and wind, sometimes large wind slabs formed in particular at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
