Kernpunkte

Avalanche danger is low, but that doesn't mean  you don't have any chance of triggering an avalanche. At upper elevations, where we have minimal information, there may be isolated wind drifts you could trigger a small avalanche on.  In high consequence terrain like in a gully or above a cliff, going for a ride could still cause harm.

    Small pockets of wind slabs may exist at upper elevations. In isolated locations, you might be able to trigger an avalanche on one of these stiffer snow deposits. Any reactive slabs would most likely be found on steep, unsupported slopes.

    Avalanches would likely be small, however, if you're in high consequence terrain the effects of getting caught in an avalanche could be amplified. This would be the case if the slide buries you deep in a gully, or if you're above a cliff, trees or rocks that would could harm you.

Avalanche Discussion

You can expect a crust on south-facing aspects, from the last few day's sun and warm temperatures. It's not likely that it'll soften completely on Thursday. 

A storm over the weekend started with rain to upper elevations, and then concluded with snow. Around a foot of snow capped the now crusty old snow surface. The new snow layer appears to be well bonded to the crust. Snow on shaded aspects is remaing low density and dry.
