Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected in the snowpack. Areas of moderately bonded windslab will remain. These areas not particularly extensive with South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres being most affected. On other aspects, and below this level, the snowpack will generally be firm and icy. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Another cold but settled day is expected. The freezing level will be around 300 metres. Southerly winds will strengthen through the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry, sunny and cold day. After an overnight frost at all levels the freezing level rose to around 400 metres during the day. There was a fresh breeze from the North-East. ObservedSnowStability: Much of the snowpack is firm and icy. However, some areas of windslab remain in sheltered locations above 1000 metres. Although these areas are not particularly extensive, some poorly bonded deposits remain. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
