Forecast Snow Stability: New snow and wind transport of existing snow will form unstable windslab in wind sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations will be in sheltered gullies and on slopes with a North-West through North to Easterly aspect mainly above 800 metres. Fragile cornices may form in these areas. Wind exposed slopes will firm and icy in places with good general stability. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: New snow will affect slopes mainly above 900 metres overnight but lowering to around 400 metres through the course of the day. Gale to storm force South-Westerly winds overnight will ease a touch through the day but staying strong to gale force. The freezing level will briefly rise above the summits overnight lowering to 500 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: New snow affected slopes mainly above 800 metres, winds have been generally South-Westerly strong to gale force with occasional stronger gusts. The freezing level is around 950 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Unstable areas of windslab have formed in wind sheltered locations mainly above 900 metres. Areas most affected are sheltered gully exits and on steep corrie headwalls, these areas are generally avoidable. Elsewhere the strong winds have scoured exposed slopes which are becoming firm and icy in places. The avalanche hazard is Low.
