At the mid and upper elevations, backcountry travelers could trigger slabs one to three feet deep on steep, wind loaded slopes. Strong southwesterly ridgetop winds will continue to move any remaining loose snow in exposed terrain, further loading leeward starting zones near ridgecrests. Use caution in these areas, and resist peer pressure that may lead to compromising situations. Any extended periods of sunshine in the afternoon will make these slides more susceptible to failure on sunlit aspects. The snowpack is mostly stable at the lower elevations and avalanches activity is limited to isolated pockets less than a foot deep.

The west flow will continue to bring limited moisture to Western Wyoming. Skies are expected to be overcast with areas of light snowfall. Accumulations of about an inch are possible overnight and on Tuesday. Temperatures will be warmer with overnight lows in the lows teens and daytime highs in the 20s. Southwest winds will continue overnight at 30 gusting to 40 and relax to around 20 miles per hour on Tuesday.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE. Humans who venture into steep avalanche starting zones could trigger dense slabs up to three feet deep.
