Avalanche Summary
Steep wind-drifted slopes that face north to northeast through east are the few places where you could trigger a small avalanche. Look for smooth, rounded pillows or hardened snow below ridges on open slopes to indicate this problem. Even a small slide that piles up in a creek bed or takes you sailing off a cliff could be dangerous.
