At the high elevations, varying winds have formed isolated pockets soft slab to a foot in depth that could be human triggered in very steep wind loaded terrain today. At other elevations the snowpack remains too shallow for avalanches.

The northwest flow will continue as a large Canadian trough of low pressure slowly moves eastward. On Wednesday skies will be mostly cloudy with occasional periods of light snowfall. Accumulations of about an inch are possible. Temperatures will drop into the double digits below zero overnight and rise into the single digits above and below zero during the day. The coldest temperatures will occur east of the Continental Divide. Winds will be westerly at 10 to 20 miles per hour along the higher ridge lines.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. At the upper elevations humans could trigger shallow loose snow sloughs and isolated pockets of wind slab up to a foot deep on some very steep slopes or in extreme terrain.
