As a consequence of falling temperatures the snowpack consolidated.
As the temperature drops there will be an additional decrease in the danger of moist avalanches. On very steep slopes and on extreme slopes only isolated mostly small moist snow slides and avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads. This applies in particular on very steep north facing slopes above approximately 2400 m. The avalanche prone locations are rare.
Less snow than usual is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. The new snow of last week has settled to a large extent in all aspects and in all altitude zones. The snowpack will be quite well bonded. In the last two days hardly any more avalanches were reported. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.
The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
