Forecast Snow Stability: The snow will be well bonded and stable throughout with a thaw continuing at lower elevations. Insignificant accumulations of windslab will form in wind sheltered locations above 900 metres on West to North aspects. Diminishing snowpack below 900 metres, good cover remaining above this altitude. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Dry overnight with very light precipitation during the day. This will initially fall as snow at 900 metres but by early afternoon it will be sleet, with wet snow falling only on the highest summits. Severe gale force South-Easterly winds. Freezing level rising to 1200 metres by the end of the period. Observed Weather Influences: Showery precipitation, heavy at times, falling mainly as rain but turning to wet snow above 900 metres during the afternoon as the freezing level lowered. Strong generally Southerly winds. ObservedSnowStability: The snow is soft and wet but generally well bonded and stable throughout. A rapid thaw is taking place at lower elevations but cover remains good above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
