Forecast Snow Stability: New snowfall will mostly fall onto bare ground. However, new areas of windslab will develop over older snow-ice mainly on North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. These areas are expected to be limited in distribution with gully exits, scarp slopes and corrie rims mainly affected. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow at all levels overnight but dry thereafter with the freezing level rising to around 650 metres during the day. Winds will be strongest overnight, initially from the South-West but veering to the North-West and easing throughout the day. Observed Weather Influences: A cold day, around -3 degrees celsius recorded at 930 metres. Winds strengthening from the South with light snow falling to around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a dusting of snow above 800 metres. The old snow has refrozen and is hard and icy. Greatest amounts are found in North to East aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low.
