Forecast Snow Stability: The majority of snow will be stable and generally well bonded. Localised accumulations of moderately bonded snow will persist on North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres, and also less frequently on some West and East aspects. Deepest accumulations will be encountered in wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and around steep corrie rims. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation has been forecasted. Winds will be light, variable North-Westerly backing Westerly. The freezing level will lower to around 350 metres overnight, rising to 550 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight snowfall, followed by light snow showers during the day, initially to all levels and then later only above 700 metres. Winds were light South-South-Westerly. Freezing level rose to around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: There is a general covering of soft snow on all aspects from glen level. In steeper, wind sheltered locations on mainly North-West to North-East aspects above 900 metres, moderately bonded deposits persist. Occasionally, windslab is also encountered on West and East aspects above this altitude. Elsewhere the snow tends to be stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
