As a consequence of warming and solar radiation a dangerous avalanche situation will be encountered over a wide area.
As a consequence of warming and solar radiation a dangerous avalanche situation will be encountered over a wide area.
Caution is to be exercised adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas, in particular along the border with Switzerland, along the border with France and in the regions neighbouring those that are subject to danger level 3 (considerable). As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong wind, wind slabs formed. The new snow and wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant above approximately 2300 m. The danger of dry and moist avalanches will increase during the day. In the early morning, individual, then as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation more, and in some cases even medium-sized, dry and wet avalanches are to be expected. Avalanches can also be triggered in the old snowpack and reach large size in isolated cases.
The more recent wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls in all aspects. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes, especially on steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a dangerous avalanche situation will develop.
