  Warm temperatures overnight and some cloud cover may have limited the refreeze in some places. In other places, the snowpack may have radiated enough heat into the night sky for a better refreeze. Either way, morning sun and warm weather will start to create wet loose snow on many slopes. As the cloud cover increases today, it may help trap heat and spread wet snow to more aspects. The additional possibility of rain showers this afternoon will also add to the amount of wet snow that forms. Wet loose avalanches will become possible again today, especially in places with rain this afternoon. Long steep slopes can produce larger wet loose avalanches, but smaller wet loose avalanches can still have consequences in areas with terrain traps like cliffs or creeks.

  The window for supportable refrozen snow may be short today. Pay attention to the terrain and changing conditions as you travel. If your travel plans include avalanche terrain, start early and finish before the snow gets wet and mushy. If you prefer to recreate in the wet snow, stick to lower-angle slopes without steep slopes above. Once the snow feels wet and unsupportable, it's time to move away from avalanche terrain onto less steep slopes.
