    At the mid and upper elevations cohesive slabs sit upon a buried weak layer of faceted snow that lies atop a hard crust. This problem layer and bed surface can produce human triggered avalanches two to four feet deep on a variety of aspects, but has been most active on north through east to southeast aspects. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 7,500 feet.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A dry high pressure ridge will be over western Wyoming. Skies are forecast to be partly cloudy. Temperatures will drop into the teens overnight and rise into the 30s during the day. As the axis of this ridge passes moves over the region the winds will back towards the southwest and begin to increase ahead of the next approaching low pressure system.Areas of unstable snow persist and serious avalanche accidents are possible. On avalanche prone slopes large slab avalanches two to four feet in depth could be triggered by the weight of a single person or after a slope has been previously crossed by other skiers or riders. Expert terrain analyses skills, a thorough understanding of our persistent slab avalanche problem and conservation terrain choices are still essential for safe travel in avalanche terrain. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE above an elevation of 7,500 feet and LOW below that elevation.
