On Saturday I observed a very small human triggered wind slab on steep east facing terrain near treeline. For Sunday I would suspect small slabs on specific features and larger wind slabs will be possible on isolated slopes. As always assess for terrain traps such as gulleys, trees, cliffs, creeks etc and make conservative riding choices.
With 2-4" of new snow in the forecast fresh wind slabs will be possible near and above treeline on northerly, easterly and southeasterly slopes. While traveling always be on the lookout for signs of wind slabs such as pillow-like features, wind textured surfaces, and hollow like snow. Wind slabs often form below ridgelines and terrain features that collect snow. Use safe test slopes to assess for signs of instabilities such as cracking or small wind slabs. If in doubt seek lower angle terrain.
