Avalanche Activity

Small wet snow avalanches in snowy places during daytime changes

The avalanche risk is low. The last remnants of snow can spontaneously descend as small wet snow slides. This increases the risk of avalanches in the fall terrain.

Snowpack Structure

There is still a little snow in places at altitude, but most of the terrain is already snowed out. The surface often freezes overnight, but softens quickly during the daytime changes.

Weather Forecast

Friday night will be mostly clear, with the frost line at around 2500 metres. Tomorrow, Friday, there will be a few clouds and frequent sunshine with good visibility. In the afternoon, spring clouds will increase and visibility may be impaired on summits. Isolated rain showers cannot be ruled out. The clouds will mostly clear again towards the evening. The wind will be mainly light from the north. Temperatures will reach around 6 degrees at 2000 metres.

Tendency

Slow reduction in avalanche danger due to melting of the remaining snow. Relatively good outgoing longwave radiation on Saturday night.
