Wind and new snow to intermediate altitudes.
Wind and new snow to intermediate altitudes.
The weather conditions will cause a slight rise in the avalanche danger in the afternoon in the regions exposed to substantial precipitation. Over a wide area new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at elevated altitudes. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.
The new snow will be deposited on a crust in all aspects. In particular at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. At low and intermediate altitudes only a little snow is lying.
The avalanche danger will increase but remain within the current danger level.
