Avalanche danger above 2000 m is CONSIDERABLE, below that altitude danger is MODERATE. The freshly generated snowdrift accumulations from Friday can trigger a medium-sized slab avalanche by minimum additional loading, esp. near ridges. Drifts and danger signs (e.g. snow plumes) are mostly easy to recognize. In steep rocky terrain, small loose-snow avalanches are possible. Glide-snow avalanches on steep grass-covered slopes are still a threat, mostly small releases but can glide over the warm ground at any time.

The fresh snow from Friday (30-60 cm) has already settled somewhat. Southerly foehn winds have transported the loose snow, generated snowdrift accumulations or a slab. The fresh snow beneath this serves as a weak layer.

On Sunday, clouds will often be heavier, but intermittent sunshine is likely despite reduced visibility on the higher summits. In afternoon, more sunshine. Southerly winds light to moderate, sufficient to transport the loose snow. At 2000 m: -6 to -2 degrees.

Avalanche danger levels are not expected to change significantly.
