Backcountry tourers can release avalanches in some places. The fresh wind slabs are mostly small but can be released in isolated cases. They are to be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on very steep shady slopes and at elevated altitudes. Avalanches can additionally in very isolated cases be released in the weakly bonded old snow also. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep shady slopes and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. They are very rare but are difficult to recognise.
In some localities up to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1500 m. The southeasterly wind will transport the new snow. In particular at elevated altitudes mostly small wind slabs will form. In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on a hard crust. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the centre of the snowpack, in particular on steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes.
The backcountry touring conditions remain generally favourable.
