Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Soft slabs formed by west winds up to 18 inches in depth rest on leeward aspects. These slabs lie upon lighter density snow and a slick hard crust. Riders or skiers who venture into steep wind loaded starting zones could trigger these slabs. Warm temperatures at low elevations continue to heat the snowpack and the potential to release wet slides on steep snow covered slopes is increasing.
