Avalanche Summary

Avalanche conditions are dangerous. Recent strong westerly winds built thick slabs of snow far below ridges and in gullies. On north to east through southeast-facing slopes, drifts are resting on collapsible weak layers near the ground. Reports of remotely-triggered avalanches are coming in to the CAIC. Avoid traveling on or under dangerous slopes. Be careful around, and consider avoiding any steep slope where there is drifted snow or storm totals exceeding 12 inches.

Additional snow and wind Monday into Tuesday means you can trigger slides that break in the drifted snow, too. Look out for these on the same slopes as mentioned above. Slides that break in the drifted snow can easily trigger deeper slides that break at the ground.
