Kernpunkte

DANGEROUS slabs up to four feet in depth exist in upper elevation avalanche paths and await human triggers. Yesterday a fresh naturally released slab at least three in depth was observed in the Southern Tetons on a southeast aspect at an elevation of 9,800 feet. A skier on Angle Mountain near Togwotee Pass triggered a five foot deep hard slab in an easterly starting zone on approach. At the mid elevations pockets of slab to two feet in depth exist in steep wind loaded starting zones and cliff areas and could be human triggered. At the lower elevations mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are unlikely except in isolated pockets or from above.
