Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain well bonded and stable. A firm and very icy surface on many slopes will persist. Surface instabilities may exist on slopes affected by solar radiation, these should mainly be shallow and avoidable. Cornices will be suspect. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry for the period with strong South-Easterly winds which will strengthen to gale or severe gale later in the day. The freezing level overnight will be 250 metres rising to 750 metres through the day. Observed Weather Influences: Cold and clear conditions gave an overnight frost at all levels. Today has been mainly clear with fresh Southerly winds. Summit day time temperatures have been around -1 or -2 degrees Celsius. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable. Firm and icy conditions exist on all aspects above 650 metres. Shallow surface instabilities exist on slopes affected by solar radiation. The avalanche hazard is Low.
