Few danger zones in extremely steep terrain

Avalanche danger is LOW. There is low danger from naturally triggered glide-snow avalanches which can release at any time of day or night in extremely steep zones which have not yet discharged. Due to snowdrifts there are only few danger zones. Small slab avalanches are most likely in extremely steep ridgeline terrain esp. by large additional loading.

Atop a thoroughly wet old snowpack there lie a few cem of bonded fresh snow. In exposed terrain there are shallow snowdrifts generated by W/N winds. No indications of weak layers inside the snowpack, the only fracture point is the weak fundament itself.

On Thursday, frequent sunshine, some cloudbanks, it will remain dry. Good visibility. Widns will be light to moderate from the northwest. At 2000 m: -7 to -5 degrees.

On Friday no significant change expected.
