Avalanche Discussion
Little change in the weather on a regional scale means little change in avalanche hazard. We remain locked into a dry and warm pattern, and the avalanche hazard continues to be low on all aspects and at all elevations.
Subtle changes continue to impact surface conditions. The sun continues to climb in the sky, and the window for solar surface warming is growing. Partly cloudy skies today combined with above average tempertures may create warm and sticky snow in places. Large diurnal temperature swings and clear overnight skies will continue the near-surface faceting process in others.
While some may feel like the current state of East Side affairs have become undesirable, creative skiers and riders can continue to find adeqaute covergage and ample opportunity for adventure throughout the range. If you're getting out and surface conditions are not at the front of your mind and conversations, they should be.
