The avalanche danger is Low today. Wind slabs which formed on Monday may remain sensitive to human triggering in steep, middle and upper elevation terrain. Though these areas of stiffer snow will be shallow and exist only in isolated areas, they could cause problems, especially where they exist over firm crusts or old, wind hammered snow surfaces. Softer snow in sheltered areas not affected by the predominantly southwest wind that built these wind slabs will provide better skiing and riding. Pay attention to signs of recent wind loading and only expose one person at a time. Avalanches are unlikely in all other terrain today.

Temperatures will be quite cold again tonight with mountains reaching ten below zero and valleys even colder. Jackson may drop to negative twenty and Bondurant, negative thirty as another inversion sets up. No accumulating snow is expected overnight as the current cold dry air mass settles in. Count on temperatures struggling to rebound tomorrow with lower single digits in the mountains where a few snow showers will occur through the day. Low avalanche danger will exist again tomorrow with any avalanche activity very unlikely. You may find some firm, stubborn wind slabs in exposed locations and dry, loose sluffing in steep, wind sheltered terrain but otherwise the snowpack is generally stable at this time.
