Kernpunkte

In some localities a little new snow above approximately 1300 m. The snowpack remains weakly bonded on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. The wind slabs can be released by large loads in particular. In addition the sometimes new snow-covered wind slabs must be taken into account.

Avalanche Activity

In some localities a little new snow above approximately 1300 m. The snowpack remains weakly bonded on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. The wind slabs can be released by large loads in particular. In addition the sometimes new snow-covered wind slabs must be taken into account.

Weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. In particular shady slopes where hard layers are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack are precarious. Some fresh snow and the mostly small wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2700 m. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as wind-protected sunny slopes: The snowpack is stable.

Snowpack Structure

In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The more recent wind slabs of recent weeks have bonded well with the old snowpack especially on sunny slopes. Especially places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable. Low and intermediate altitudes as well as wind-protected sunny slopes: The snowpack is stable and its surface has a crust. In particular shady slopes where hard layers are lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack are precarious.
