Avalanche Activity

The snowpack will be generally well bonded. At elevated altitudes a critical avalanche situation will persist in some cases. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack especially on north, northwest and northeast facing slopes.

The snowpack will be generally well bonded. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes above approximately 2200 m. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released especially by large additional loads here. As a consequence of falling temperatures, the natural activity of moist and wet avalanches will gradually decrease.
