Avalanche danger is low until Wednesday. In the summit zones of the Dachstein region and Niedere Tauern, fresh shallow snowdrift masses have been generated. Danger zones for slab avalanches (some of which are wet) lie on north-facing ridgeline slopes and behind abrupt drops in the terrain. With rising daytime temperatures and rain impact, naturally triggered wet loose-snow avalanches continue to be possible on extremely steep slopes, but no large-sized releases.

On Tuesday in the Northern Alps, Dachstein region and Hochschwab, above 2000 m, small snowdrift accumulations will be generated, without much bonding to the snowpack. Below 2000 m the snowpack has settled and is moist-to-wet. Most of the fresh snow lies in the Schladminger and Wölzer Tauern and in the Dachstine region. On Wednesday night, the snowpack firmness will increase noticeably on the surface.

Skies on Tuesday in Styria will be gray, the peaks often shrouded in fog. Rainfall and snowfall over widespread areas, often persistent. Snowfall level at 1700-2000 m. Winds shifting from SE to N. At 1000 m: 8 degrees; at 2000 m: 0 degrees. On Wednesday, barrier cloud regions will be full from Schladminger Tauern over Dachstein to the Hochschwab, the summits often in fog. Final rain and snow showers. Snowfall level at 1700 m. Further south, clouds will disperse, moderate N/NW winds, more sunshine. Later, convective cloud build-up, later dispersing. At 2000 m: 0 degrees at midday.
