As a consequence of new snow and a gathering strong southeasterly wind, sometimes large wind slabs will form in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as above approximately 2000 m. Medium-sized and large natural avalanches are possible, also in all aspects on steep slopes. In avalanche paths that are already filled with snow they can in isolated cases reach a long way. In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation the peak of avalanche activity will be reached from the second half of the night. The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming in all aspects can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant,. The current avalanche situation calls for extensive experience and great restraint.

60 to 90 cm of snow will fall until Sunday above approximately 1500 m. The new snow of Sunday is bonding poorly with the old snowpack in some places in all aspects, in particular on wind-protected shady slopes.
