Snowpack Summary

Up to 10 cm of new snow arrives on Sunday. This new snow is falling on bare ground in many areas, or up to 40 cm of soft slab in north and northeast-facing bowls and gullies. Below this is a firm crust.

Significant melt has occurred over the past month and many areas are below the threshold for avalanches.

  • Avoid travelling on slopes below cornices.
  • Avoid slopes that sound hollow or drum-like.
