Kernpunkte

New snow and recent storms have deposited DANGEROUS unstable slabs to three feet in depth at mid and upper elevations. Due to varying winds, these slabs lie on a variety of aspects and could be easily triggered by skiers or boarders in avalanche terrain and could also release naturally. Once triggered they could pull out deeper layers that lie upon weak, faceted snow near the ground. Early yesterday a large slide in Endless Couloir in Granite Canyon released naturally with a crown depth of four feet. A skier triggered slide was also reported on Super-Bowl in Mail Cabin Creek. At low elevations isolated pockets of slab could be triggered on steep slopes.
