Avalanche Summary
High-elevation wind-drifted slopes are the only places you could trigger a small avalanche. Avoiding steep gully features and places where you observe smooth-drifted pockets of snow is a surefire way to help keep yourself safe from avalanches when traveling in the mountains. Although the chance of triggering an avalanche is minimal, even a small avalanche in early-season conditions can be dangerous.
