Snowpack Structure

Overnight and continuing snowfall occurred mainly in the eastern half of Slovakia. In the Fatra Mountains, 5 to 15 cm of new snow was added, with the most in the east of Veľká Fatra and the least in Mala Fatra. The new snow fell on a grassy base without old snow.

Persistent during the day, it should not snow heavily in this part of Slovakia today

Avalanche Activity

In the Fatra Mountains, due to snowfall, a SMALL avalanche danger has been created, level 1.

The avalanche danger is local and is mainly related to locations with greater accumulation of new snow - steep couloirs and gullies. Smaller avalanches are possible here, especially with large additional loads.
