Kernpunkte

The shallow early season snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Backcountry users who venture into steep north facing couloirs and cliff areas could trigger isolated pockets of slab up to one foot in depth.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. ) A fast moving trough will give a chance of snow showers Tuesday evening but Wednesday should see only a chance of isolated snow showers under a northwest flow. Daytime highs will be in the twenties and winds northwesterly at twenty five miles per hour. The General Avalanche Hazard will continue to be LOW at all elevations on Wednesday. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Low avalanche hazard rating holds the possibility for backcountry travelers to trigger isolated pockets of slab 6 to 12 inches in depth on steep, wind loaded starting zones near ridge crests.
