Things have been quiet over the last couple of weeks. A storm moving through later today and Saturday may increase the avalanche danger slightly. For today, the overall avalanche danger rating on the Skyline remains LOW.

General Conditions: Temperatures actually cooled off a bit overnight and are around 30˚ F. This is still very warm for this time of the season but cooler than it's been for a while. Wind has been from the south southwest and has been generally moderate in speed along the higher terrain. The snowpack remains shallow and conditions are not user-friendly for winter recreation activities.

Mountain Weather: We actually might see some snow accumulation this weekend. Today we'll see increasing clouds, high temperatures pushing 40˚ F, and moderate speed wind from the south west. We should see periods of snow starting tonight and lasting into Saturday night. I'm not real confident on snow amounts because the two main weather models differ greatly on water totals. I'm thinking somewhere in the 4 to 9 inch range by Sunday. We'll see a short cold snap before temperatures warm again by next week.
